The Sandstone Collection is my first signature body of work—and perhaps the most intimate. Inspired by the ancient sandstone formations surrounding my rainforest home in Buderim, this collection honours the quiet strength, subtle complexity, and grounding beauty of the natural world.
Living in The Sandstone House, I am immersed daily in the soft, warm tones of these stones. Their gentle pinks, creams, ochres, and golds; their layered striations; their weathered surfaces shaped over thousands of years—they are constant reminders of time, endurance, and stillness. These qualities became the foundation of the collection.
Each artwork begins with a textured base, sculpted to echo the organic lines and natural formations found in sandstone. I incorporate materials gathered from the land—sandstone dust, earth pigments, and natural fibres—to create grounding, tactile surfaces that honour the spirit of the stone.
Hidden within the earliest layers are written blessings and prayers—words of clarity, hope, and restoration. These unseen messages form a quiet undercurrent of meaning, allowing each piece to carry both story and spirit.
The resulting artworks are modern yet deeply earthy, minimalist yet rich with buried complexity. They are designed for collectors who seek neutral, textured artwork that feels calming, organic, and deeply connected to nature.
